Apex Legends Goes Full Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Vibe With New Event, Cyberpsychosis Mechanic

Apex Legends is diving headfirst into Night City with a massive Cyberpunk crossover event, kicking off July 14. This isn't just a cosmetic update; Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts are teaming up with CD Projekt Red to transform The Outlands into a neon-drenched Night City E-District, packed with gameplay changes. Fans of Cyberpunk Edgerunners will recognize the vibe, especially as this event is being positioned as a potential prelude to a rumored second season of the beloved anime.

Players can jack into new Cyberware mods straight out of Night City. The Sandevistan grants rapid dashes, letting legends close gaps or escape danger with lightning speed. Blackwall Breach phases you into the Net for tactical repositioning, then unleashes a disruptive blast that shatters enemy shields. But be warned: embrace too much chrome, and you risk Cyberpsychosis. As your Cyberware Capacity fills, pushing past the redline turns you into a devastating melee juggernaut—at the cost of all weapons, abilities, and shields. Immunoblocker Syringes and Caches are your only way to reverse the madness.

The iconic Mythic Skippy Alternator also makes an appearance, complete with its infamous 'Puppy Loving Pacifist' and 'Stone Cold Killer' modes.
