Seinen (青年, "young man") manga and anime targets adult male readers aged 18–40, offering narratives with greater psychological complexity, moral ambiguity, and artistic experimentation than shōnen. Seinen is the demographic responsible for many of the medium's most acclaimed and literarily significant works, from Berserk to Monster to Vinland Saga.
