Creature Commandos S2 Gets 10 Episodes, G.I. Robot Set for 'Massive Story'

Creature Commandos Showrunner Dean Lorey just dropped a bombshell: the upcoming DC Studios animated series will feature a 'massive story' for the character in Season 2. David Harbour's performance as G.I. Robot is already being called 'hilarious.' Even bigger news? Lorey confirmed the second season will expand to a hefty 10 episodes.

This is a significant boost for James Gunn's first DCU series, which fans have been eagerly anticipating. Lorey recently shared on Instagram that he'd reviewed an animatic for Season 2, Episode 6, calling what he's seen 'so good' and expressing his excitement. Production is clearly full steam ahead for its 2027 debut.

Lorey previously teased a 'fast track' for Season 2 development, and it seems the studio means business. He also confirmed the core team introduced at the end of Season 1 is largely sticking around. That means fans can expect The Bride (Indira Varma) leading Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), Weasel (Sean Gunn), King Shark (Diedrich Bader), Nosferata, Khalis, and of course, a 'beefed-up' G.I. Robot. James Gunn himself penned all the episodes for the first season, setting a high bar. With Lorey's enthusiasm and an expanded episode count, Season 2 is shaping up to be an ambitious ride.
