Lobo #5: The Main Man's 'Victory Lap' Hits a Snag

Lobo, the galaxy's baddest bounty hunter, supposedly emerged victorious from a brawl with Supergirl. We assume she's retired now, because that's Lobo's story, and he's sticking to it. Now, with loyal Dawg in tow, he's ditching Earth before anyone can verify his claims or question his recent professional license. Classic Lobo arrogance.

But even the Main Man has PR problems. Our favorite Czarnian is drowning in hate mail, and his own agent has put a bounty on his head. It seems his unique brand of "victory" comes with a hefty price tag. He's also looking to get in "even better shape," which likely means more gratuitous violence and collateral damage are on the horizon. The preview pages hint at a wild encounter with a character named Lip Bomb at a joint called "Chug N' Slug." Expect fireworks, and probably a few broken bones.

Writer Skottie Young and artist Jorge Corona are steering this chaotic ship. This duo is a fitting choice for Lobo's blend of over-the-top action and dark humor. Young is known for his distinctive cartoonish style and irreverent storytelling, while Corona's dynamic art promises to make Lobo's signature mayhem pop off the page.
