Ludwig Series 2 Teases David Mitchell's New Role and Forbidden Quest

The BBC just dropped a first-look teaser for Ludwig Series 2, giving fans a fresh peek at David Mitchell's acclaimed detective series. Mitchell returns as master puzzle-solver John 'Ludwig' Taylor, alongside Anna Maxwell Martin, as the show promises more intricate mysteries and personal stakes.

Series 2 picks up with John finally embracing his true identity, no longer masquerading as his missing brother, James. He's now a Crime Scene Consultant for the Cambridge Police, tackling "impossible" crimes. But here's the twist: the police forbid him from using official resources to find James, who remains missing. Of course, John isn't one to follow rules when a puzzle needs solving, and his sister-in-law Lucy is right there with him, determined to bring her husband home.

The new season boasts an expanded cast, with Sian Clifford (Fleabag) joining as local MP Joanne Kemper and Mark Bonnar (Guilt) as newspaper editor Gareth Fisher.
