My Adventures with Superman S3 Hits Tonight, Green Lantern Show in Pre-Production!

My Adventures with Superman Season 3 drops tonight on Adult Swim, but that's not the only hero news brewing! Showrunners Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher just dropped a major bombshell: "My Adventures with Green Lantern" is officially in pre-production. While we wait for that green light, fans can expect Jessica Cruz to make a quick cameo in MAWS Season 3.
Wyatt elaborated on the anime DNA for these shows. MAWS, he said, is "very obviously inspired by Dragon Ball Z." But the upcoming Green Lantern series will draw from "a very different part of the same Toonami block." That's a huge tease for what Green Lantern's visual and narrative style might be!
As for MAWS Season 3, expect a fresh take on "Reign of the Supermen," the classic storyline where imposters vie for the Man of Steel's mantle. The team isn't doing a direct adaptation, but they're using the premise to ask, "What's a Superman?" Cyborg Superman is confirmed "right out the gate."

This Green Lantern news is huge! Anime-inspired DC shows are carving out a distinct niche, and hearing about different Toonami influences for GL promises something visually unique. Fans will want to watch how MAWS handles "Reign of the Supermen" too, especially with Cyborg Superman and Superboy entering the fray.
