Otakon 2026 Unveils First Star Guests: Industry Powerhouse and VA Favorites Confirmed

Otakon 2026 is already stacking its deck with a phenomenal first wave of guests. Fans heading to Washington, D.C. from July 31 to August 2 are in for a treat, with a lineup spanning industry leadership and voice acting titans.
Leading the charge is Maki Terashima-Furuta, President of I.G. USA. Her involvement is a significant get. Terashima-Furuta has produced some of anime's most iconic works, including hits from Production I.G. like Psycho-Pass and Haikyuu!!. Her insights into the global anime landscape are invaluable.
The voice acting roster is equally impressive. Ayaka Fukuhara, known for her captivating performances in The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls and BanG Dream!, will make an appearance. Joining her are veterans Ryotaro Okiayu (Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach, Shigure Souma in Fruits Basket), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito from Sword Art Online, Inosuke from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), and Yuka Iguchi (Index in A Certain Magical Index, Crusch Karsten in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-). This group represents a massive breadth of fan-favorite roles across diverse genres.
“Announcing such a strong initial lineup so far out signals their commitment to making 2026 a must-attend event.”
