Weird Al Yankovic Joins Batman & Superman in Wild DC Comics Crossover

Get ready for the crossover nobody saw coming: "Weird Al" Yankovic is officially joining forces with Batman and Superman. DC Comics just announced Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World's Weirdest #1, a 40-page one-shot set to hit shelves on September 2, 2026. Yes, you read that date right.
This isn't a drill. The legendary parody musician steps into the DC Universe to save us all. When an affliction from the fifth dimension turns everything "dull and ordinary," even Mr. Mxyzptlk calls for help. The heroes are baffled, so who else to call but Weird Al? Acclaimed comics writer Mark Waid pens the story, with art by Dan Schoening.
This isn't Al's first rodeo in comics; he previously guest-edited MAD Magazine and even graced DC variant covers. But a full-on team-up with the World's Finest? That's wonderfully, uniquely weird.

Catzye Take
This crossover is pure unadulterated fun, and honestly, a brilliant move by DC to tap into an unexpected vein of humor. What's interesting is the 2026 release date, giving fans plenty of time to anticipate this truly 'weird' event. We're curious to see if this opens the door for more out-of-left-field celebrity comic collaborations.
