11Title sums to 29 and reduces to 11 — The Signal, where the reference files a signal received early.
Makoto Yukimura's Planetes ran in Kodansha's Weekly Morning from 1999 to 2004 and was collected in four volumes. In 2075, spaceflight is routine and Earth's orbit is full of debris that can destroy a ship. Hachirota "Hachimaki" Hoshino works on a small crew collecting it, and wants above all to own a spaceship and go to Jupiter.
The series is hard science fiction in the sense that its problems are practical: radiation, isolation, the effects of long stays in low gravity, money, and the politics of who gets to go to space. Its drama is personal: Hachimaki's obsession with his goal, and what he sacrifices and learns about loving other people to reach it.
Underneath, Planetes asks what space is for, and who pays for it. A terrorist group objects to space development while poorer countries suffer, and the series takes the argument seriously.
It was Yukimura's debut series, and it shows the concerns he would carry into Vinland Saga: violence, purpose and how a person learns to live with others. Its 2003 anime adaptation by Sunrise is admired for its realism and expanded the story considerably.
Counted letter by letter this title comes to 29 — 11 once reduced, and a master number, so it stops there.
The 11 governs inspiration, tension, and heightened awareness. The reference files it as a signal received early. It is a lens rather than a verdict, but it is a consistent one: the 11's heightened, high-voltage intuition about what comes next is the pressure under this entry.
Split the title again and the vowels give a Heart's Desire of 11 (vision) against a Personality of 9 (reckoning) in the consonants — vision underneath, reckoning on the surface. The gap between them is where the subject is most interesting.
Counted another way the answer changes. 総画 strokes is 13, a 4, volumes is 4, years serialised is 6 and debut year is 1999, a 1. The title says 11; the subject says otherwise, and the subject is the harder evidence.
The Signal asks one thing of everything on it: remember that nobody noticed this at the time. The 11 is unstable and knows it. Being early and being wrong are indistinguishable until later. The other entries that reduce to 11 are collected on The Signal.
